Drinking Vessels – Masu, Ochoko, or a Western Wine Glass:
From Which Vessel Does Sake Taste Best?

Sake is more than just a drink – it is a complete sensory experience of aroma, texture, and flavor. But how much does the vessel in which it is served influence our perception? In this exclusive masterclass, we dedicate ourselves to precisely this question: we will taste premium sake from a variety of drinking vessels and explore how aroma, nose, and mouthfeel shift — subtly, significantly, and sometimes surprisingly.

Whether a mouth-blown Zalto glass, a traditional wooden Masu, or classic ceramic and glass Ochoko cups – each vessel tells its own story and opens a different perspective on Japan’s national beverage. Authentic sake snacks will be served to complement the tasting experience.

We are especially delighted that Hikari Saito, Vice Miss Sake 2023, will join the masterclass and share her impressions and expertise with us.
