The world of sake is as diverse as it is fascinating — and for many, still a well-kept secret. With our new masterclass “Journey Through the World of Sake”, we invite everyone interested to discover this traditional Japanese beverage in all its expressions. Whether curious beginners or experienced sake lovers — this tasting promises fresh insights and surprising revelations for all.

Seven Sake – Seven Worlds

Together, we will taste seven exceptional sake that could hardly be more different, showcasing the impressive range of this centuries-old craft:

TONO DOBUROKU Kimoto — rustic, unfiltered, authentic
KANKOUBAI Junmai Ginjo “AKI” Owl Label — elegant, clear, modern
TATENOKAWA Seiryu “Stream” — finely structured, from Yamagata
SHICHIDA Junmai 75, Yamada-Nishiki — precise, traditional, balanced
KURA WIEN Sake — locally brewed, inspired by Japanese craftsmanship
SHICHIHONYARI Yamahai Junmai “KOKOKU” 2014 Limited Edition — matured, complex, profound
TSURU-UME Yuzu — a refreshing citrus-forward sake liqueur

Knowledge that Inspires

Alongside the tasting, we explore exciting questions about the world of sake:

• Is sake really “rice wine” — and why is “rice liquor” a misconception?
• What does the polishing ratio reveal about style, texture, and quality?
• Can sake be made from any type of rice?
• Which aromas emerge in different styles?
• Why does sake pair so beautifully with food?
• And how well can sake be stored or aged?

We explain origins, brewing methods, regional distinctions, and offer cultural insights into Japan’s national beverage.

Authentic Japanese Sake Snacks Included

Each sake will be accompanied by traditional Japanese snacks — thoughtfully matched to enrich the tasting experience.
